Суд в Лионе на юго-востоке Франции 15 января 2019 г. аннулировал лицензию на одно из средств для борьбы с сорняками на основе глифосата компании Monsanto, которая принадлежит Bayer.

Суд установил немедленный запрет на Roundup Pro 360, сообщает Reuters.

Представители фемиды решили, что одобрение французского агентства по охране окружающей среды ANSES в 2017 году на Roundup Pro 360 не учитывает потенциальные риски для здоровья.Суд отметил, что ANSES не соблюдает принцип предосторожности во французском законодательстве, в частности, не проводя конкретной оценки рисков для здоровья.

«Несмотря на одобрение Европейским союзом активного вещества (глифосата), суд счел, что научные исследования и эксперименты на животных показали, что Roundup Pro 360… является потенциально канцерогенным продуктом для людей, предположительно токсичным для репродукции человека и для водных организмов», — говорится в кратком изложении решения суда.

Французское агентство ANSES сказало, что оно все еще рассматривает решение суда, но решение вступило в силу немедленно.

«Как следствие, продажа, распространение и использование RoundUp Pro 360 на сегодняшний день запрещены», — говорится в сообщении агентства.

Компания Bayer заявила, что не согласна с этим решением и рассматривает его правовые обоснования, ссылаясь на нормативные постановления, а также на научные исследования о безопасности глифосата.

«Bayer не согласна с решением Административного суда Лиона об отмене разрешения на продажу RoundUp Pro 360. Эта рецептура продукта, как и все средства защиты растений, прошла строгую оценку французских властей (ANSES), независимого органа и гаранта безопасности общественного здравоохранения», — говорится в заявлении компании.  

Глифосат, который запатентован и продается по всему миру десятками других химических групп, включая Syngenta и DowDuPont's Corteva Agriscience, должен быть выведен с рынка во Франции в течение трех лет.

Для справки: суд в Сан-Франциско 10 августа 2018 г. оштрафовал компанию Monsanto на $289 млн. Указанную сумму необходимо выплатить в качестве компенсации пострадавшему с онкологическим заболеванием. Позже сумма была снижена до $79 млн. Количество судебных исков по глифосату к  Bayer в США составляет более 8 тысяч. Bayer приобрела Monsanto в 2018 году за $63 млрд.
